There are many guides online on how to disassemble a T430 and install a new CPU, however I do recommend having a standard nylon ‘guitar pick’ to hand to help prise open the plastic chassis as well as your usual Philips (cross) head screwdriver. It is fast and can still burn a lot of the newer generation i7 chips even when running a little on the hot side. I upgraded to a quad core 45w CPU sourced from eBay. The machine boots from cold in 9 seconds currently and a lot of programs have near instant load times.
